About the project
An open-source Expo native module that wraps the Amazon IVS Real-Time (Stages) broadcast SDK for iOS and Android: publish your camera and mic, subscribe to other participants, and keep streaming in picture-in-picture. Published on npm under the MIT license and running in production inside Mine.
What I built
- Camera and microphone publishing with tuned defaults (30 fps, 0.5–2.5 Mbps)
- Subscribing to remote participants, with RTC stats exposed to JavaScript
- Picture-in-picture and a floating mini-player so a stream survives navigation
- Compatibility maintained across Expo SDK 53 through 57
- Example app plus GitHub Actions CI running typecheck and build on every push
